watching the showers in north carolina, myrtle beach, orlando and miami. temperatures around 81 in atlanta as we wrap up the week. 85 in louisville. 82 in chicago. a lot of folks traveling towards baltimore. saturday looks wonderful for the preakness. a few showers across the southeast. sunday, here comes the next front bringing showers to eu claire, wisconsin. monday, chicago plan ahead for maybe some delays at o'hare. even new york philly, d.c., scattered showers as we get towards monday. and tuesday, still looking at wet conditions in the northeast and yes, even the northwest we start to see showers move back in with highs in seattle around 58. you can always "wake up with al" at 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. eastern time. on my journey across america, i found new ways to tell people about saving money. this is bobby. say hello bobby. hello bobby. do you know you could save hundreds on car insurance over the phone, online or at your local geico office? tell us bobby, what would you do with all those savings? hire a better ventriloquist. your lips are moving.

look at the area of red and orange down 0 in southern virginia, north carolina. that is some very heavy rain. a pretty large area of it, too. that's advancing to the north-northeast and taking a bead along the i-95 corridor that may be into the metro area. out ahead of that temperatures are beginning to warm up now. it's near 70 in richmond. 73 around havevirginia beach an norfolk. closer to washington. we've been holding steady in the low to mid-60s through much of the morning and we will until around noontime but we should be warming up during the afternoon hours into the upper 60s to low 70s with occasional showers and maybe a little bit of thunder and lightning, but i don't think we're going to have any severe weather but some much-needed rain off 0 and on that will probably continue into tonight. we'll look at big changes on the way here for the rest of the week and a new app pour your phone. all the latest on that in just a couple of minutes. barba barbara? >> okay, tom. come on in here. we'll see you in a few minutes. part of new hampshire avenue is closed
